This sunset attracted me to its unique mixture of the golden sun and hues with the still bright blue of the sky. The wispiness of the clouds, which had refused to take on sunset tones, reminded me of the quickly departing days of summer. This image was captured on September 4, 2003 while the fullness of summer was rapidly fading into a memory and the more austere sunsets of autumn were approaching on the horizon. This view can be seen from the northern beach area in Crescent Beach.
