This view of Crater Lake was taken in the early 1980’s. The size and grandness of nature is doubly demonstrated in this image. We see the size and majesty of the current setting but all the while are reminded of the power of volcanic activity as this whole lake basin was once the mountain. Now it is hollowed out and filled with water, a new peak is growing in the centre and may one day displace all the water and then start the cycle over again.
