Hope Mountain
Our second try to reach the peak. This time the weather cooperated and we made it all the way.

Lighthouse Park Revisited
I hadn't been back here this year and felt I was overdue in enjoying the eastern and west coastlines.
North Mission
An easy drive to North Mission for a short hike and a visit to Stave Lake

Lady Peak
A new season and another attempt to reach the peak of this elusive mountain.

Siwash Creek & Anderson River FSR's
A return to Siwash from the north allowed us to explore most of the valley. Then it was on to the Anderson River area for a sneak peek.

Anderson River FSR - South
A new area to try out and see what autumn colours may be there to enjoy

Lorenzetta – Hunter Creek FSR
After passing by for years, we finally dropped in to explore this valley. It was big enough that we didn’t finish!

Anderson River North FSR
We did a quick survey of the valley in September so we had high expectations for today’s return visit

Tiffany’s, Sherman’s & Shaver Falls (Day 2)
It felt great being back exploring Hamilton again. Today we started with 3 waterfalls and ended in the farms.

Albion Falls & Haldimand County (Day 3)
A visit to Albion Falls followed by more rural adventure in the Niagara Peninsula

Beamer Conservation Area (Day 4)
A short hike through Beamer Conservation Area

Port Stanley Area (Day 6)
A lovely day to explore the Countryside around Port Stanley with a lovely Sunset to wrap the day.

Driving west of the port along the shore of Lake Erie (Day 7)
I felt like exploring the lake shore much further west than I had previously seen, so today was my opportunity.
Ports Bruce & Burwell Region (Day 9)
Today I drove east to Ports Bruce & Burwell with an extended visit to the Erie Shores Wind Farm

John E. Pearce Park and area (Day 10)
An overcast day but still worth a quick trip along the coast for a few last minute images

Hunter, Garnet & Ruby Creeks
A great day to be out on the snow covered roads deep in the hills

Sumas and Fraser Rivers
An easy drive along the rivers with many new sites to explore

East Harrison and Clear River FSR’s
A trip to see the hills and test out our new heavy tire chains

Mt Woodside
After a brief visit 3 days ago, it looked like a good spot to return with its fresh snowfall

Mamquam and Furry Creek FSR's
It felt great to get out and visit this region again; the snow restricted some activities but opened others.

Foley, Airplane and Centre Creeks
Driving to the headwaters of Foley Creek was one of my earliest back country trips and I have wanted to return for years, so we tried again today.

Snowshoeing on Mt Mercer
With a forecast of sunshine, I thought a snowshoe hike would be a pleasant outing and Mt Mercer would be a convenient location.

Anderson River FSR & the Alexandra Bridge
I had planned to explore the ridge line on the east side of the Fraser canyon but it was still too early in the season and snow kept us far from the action.

Deeks Bluff
The bluff hike is an easy hike that offers several lovely viewpoints of Howe Sound. It was long past time for a return visit.

Florence Lake FSR & Stave Lake
There is a lovely viewpoint where one can see both Alouette and Stave Lakes. I hadn’t been there in a few years and hoped to reach it today.

Western Shore of Lighthouse Park
I love hiking Lighthouse Park as does my son Nick. So that was our destination for the day.

Chilliwack Lake Relaxation
I had planned to do some serious back-country driving today but as I wasn’t feeling the greatest and after yesterday’s unplanned trip I was still a bit tired, so an easy relaxing time along the far shore of Chilliwack Lake filled our afternoon.

Harrison East
It still being too early in the season for most locations, the East Harrison is a good location as it offers much to do being at low elevation and with many side roads.

Squamish River Valley
It was refreshing to be back in Squamish and exploring new areas especially as it was the first time out this month!

Tulameen Country
The area east of the Coquihalla is a big region with a lot of rolling alpine meadow. Many side roads were spotted that will require several return visits to fully explore the region.

West Harrison - Southern Area
The West Harrison area has so much to see, every trip seems to open up even more to explore. Today we returned to one very scenic spot and also travelled some newly formed roads.

Anderson River Valley
We have explored this region 3 times previously and still we are travelling all new areas with amazing views and things to see. Several more areas remain to see.

Buntzen Lake
The lake is always a nice little scenic spot, easy to get to and not difficult to hike, so it makes a great location for a short day hike where one has an opportunity to dig out a few new scenic nuggets.

Mt St Benedict Summited
Last year the snow stopped us short of the top, this year we plowed right through it and were the first to the peak for the week-end. A fun hike but the snow was still a challenge.

Mt Lincoln
Though the trail is quite steep, it is short and gives some nice views of the Fraser River along the way. We both felt it was a great hike for the day.

Squamish Valley – High Falls Creek
In late May we could only explore the lower sections of the roads, today the snow was gone and we could drive to the furthest points, but still we saw only a small portion of the area.

Mt. Seymour – Goldie, Flower and Dinkey
It has already been three years since I last toured the small lakes on Mt Seymour and as I needed a short day of hiking, Ethan, Nick & I took the opportunity to enjoy the small lakes once again. We then added the short hike up Dinkey Peak for a lovely

Zoa Peak
Our third peak hike of the season, it was a fun area to explore and provided a lovely view of the other peaks in the area. The trail was easier than we had expected which was a welcome discovery.

Furry and Britannia Creeks
I enjoy the Furry Creek area and felt it was time to see the furthest reaches of the roads in the area along with those in Britannia Creek.

Return to Mamquam
After many years of exploring the back roads, the Mamquam is one I still have only seen a small portion of, so today we set out to see some more of it.

Anderson Colours
There is a section of the Anderson FSR that is rich in red leaves in late September so we planned to return and hoped we could capture some rich colours along the drive.

Indian and Mamquam
A return to the Indian in the hope that it would be repaired and open to the Sound, alas it wsn’t ready yet. So we explored the farthest end of the Mamquam

Borer's Falls, Grapes and Colour (Day 2)
My first day in Ontario this season and we were hoping to take in a few waterfalls between glimpses of fine coloured panoramas.

Milton Heights, Rattlesnake Point and Waterdown (Day 3)
Today we thought we would try for some autumn leaf colours in the area north of Hamilton, but they were harder to find than another small waterfall.

Lake Erie Gale (day 4)
An adventure in the wind. Despite wide travels we found no colour to enjoy in the dull windy day, but we did discover some amazing waves.

Port Talbot, Duttona Beach (Day 6)
Back in Port Stanley and off to see the coastal sights, it is a fun place to visit and enjoy the countryside

Hawk Cliff, Sparta Area (day 7)
After yesterday's limited colour finds I thought I would try the eastern direction and head away from the lake a bit. But my first stop would be hawk's cliff. It seems that this spot has become a bit of a ritual for me. The day was starting out quite nice

A trip to the Pinecroft Green Frog Tea Room (Day 8)
A short trip out for lunch at the Pinecroft Green Frog Tea Room, we did spot a few interesting trees.

Hunter Creek
For some time I have wanted to return and finish driving the roads we missed before. Today looked like a bust as we were stopped early on by a heli-logging operation. Fortunately we managed to co-ordinate with the loggers and squeeze our way past.

East Harrison, Shovel, Kookipi and Nahatlatch
I last did the loop from Harrison to the Nahatlatch many years ago and have tried a few times over the years since but I was always stopped by snow, so today we gave it another go.
