To Cypress Point or bust
Our goal was to make it over the deep snow on the ridge and on down to Cypress point for some winter photos.

Wet
Water coated wonders from home

Sunsets from the North Shore
Lighthouse Park has several excellent viewpoints to collect sunset images from, the only problem is wanting to be at all of them for a single sunset.

Locations along Howe sound also offer some compelling locations.
Snow Shoeing in Eastern Stave
It was the day after Christmas and we were dying to try out our new snow shoes. So it was off to the Stave Lake region to walk the logging roads.

Chilliwack Lake in Winter
I hadn’t been out to the lake for some time, so I took the opportunity to explore the area in winter and see how things looked with some snow.

Squamish For Lunch
I was heading out to Squamish hoping to see the scenery and spot large groups of eagles. It was a lovely day for back country exploration and my expectations were high.

Bloedel Conservatory
The Conservatory offered many vibrant colours punctuated by ear piercing screams.

The Undersea World
The exotic creatures of the sea are definitely not the easiest animals to photograph. Fortunately, the Vancouver Aquarium was there to help. This story takes place on March 24, 2007
Cultus Lake Area
In the all the years I have been exploring the region the one easy access place I hadn’t visited was the Columbia Valley in behind Cultus Lake. So since my back country vehicle was acting up, I felt it was best not to push it and so it became a good time to explore the valley.

Cultus Lake II
Our first trip to the lake area was brief and missed large areas I had hoped to cover. So we made a second visit in short order to pick up some of those areas and see how things looked on a better day.

Lynn Canyon
Lynn Canyon offers many lovely sights for those that don’t get queasy when walking across a narrow suspended bridge high above a fast flowing creek that sways with your moving.

Dinky Peak & Deep Cove
Our adventure today saw us in two very different environments. We started at the ski slopes of Mt. Seymour and ended at the Deep Cove shoreline.

West Vancouver Adventures
Today’s trip saw us explore three separate areas of West Vancouver – Cypress Falls Park, Eagle Harbour and Klootchman Park.

Floods to Chehalis
A light drizzle just added to the mood of the serious flooding along the Fraser.

East Harrison Camp Out
It was the July long week-end and I thought it a nice day to re-visit the east Harrison FSR and area, unfortunately so did hundreds of campers!

West Harrison Again and Again
I quite like Harrison Lake and the many aspects it presents this collection is from back to back trips along the western shore July 14 & 28 2007.

Manning Park
It was time for another visit to Manning Park and an opportunity to dust off the camping gear and enjoy the evenings in the outdoors.

Murrin Park
A lovely tiny park and lake along the Sea to Sky Highway just south of Squamish.

Brohm Lake
My second visit to this lovely lake, this time we were prepared to hike around the entire lake.

Alice Lake
After driving past the park for years I felt it was finally time to see what was hiding with the park boundaries. So on September 1, 2007 we set off to explore the area.

Mt Seymour & Goldie Lake
On my previous trip to Seymour I noticed an interesting hike to Goldie Lake. So our goal for today was to see what sights the lake offered.

Chilliwack Lake
Enjoying the Chilliwack Lake Beach after being stopped by locked gates
Mystery Lake
I enjoyed such a lovely hike a few weeks earlier on Mount Seymour that I decided to try another, this time to Mystery Lake. This small alpine lake is near the top of one of the chair lifts.

East Side Stave
It had been some time since my last visit to the region along the eastern shore of Stave Lake, so today we returned to discover what had changed.

Foley Lake
It was early December and the road to Foley was now open so we took the opportunity to revisit this area and see how the lake looked in winter.

Mud Bay Park
This small park is a dual use park – a 20Km long level walking/cycling trail and a phenomenal access point to viewing migratory birds. The dichotomy brought an interesting mixture of users.

Lighthouse Park - February 2008
I needed to visit the park in preparation for an upcoming event and had a chance to capture a few shots while there.
Squamish Water Parks
When I visited Murin Park last August I enjoyed the subtle textures of the lake and planned to return and so I set out for the park only to be sent away!

Skagit Range Snow Shoeing
It was getting late in the season and I still hadn’t gotten out for some Snow Shoe hiking. Finally on April 12th and again on the 26th I made it.

Harrison Lookout
I first saw this trail several years ago and promised myself I would hike it one day. Finally I got the chance.

Capilano Canyon
Last time I visited was during the low flow period, so today I went to see the chutes of the dam in action. I was not disappointed.

Airplane Creek Re-visited
With the Pathfinder repaired I was finally able to do the hike I had planned to do June 21st – explore the ridge line leading to Lady Peak.

Return to Mount Cheam
It has been three years since I last climbed Cheam and I felt I was over due for a visit. I was not disappointed that I returned.

Ford Mountain
I had driven up the logging road on the mountain and driven past it many times so I was quite ready to hike up the top unexplored section to see what was there.

Hollyburn Workout
For decades I have driven past and talked about Hollyburn Mountain, so I figured climbing it was long overdue – but I chose a bad day.

Gold Creek Falls
I had time only for a short hike today and found the Gold River Falls in my new book of hikes. So having never been there we set out to explore Golden Ears Park.

Dog Mountain
I have quite enjoyed the hikes on Mt. Seymour and the trail to the smaller Dog Mountain looked interesting. I was hoping for good views of the city as a bonus.

Greendrop Lake, Finally
A few years back I set out on a hike to Lindeman and Greendrop lakes but ran out of time before reaching the second lake. So it was satisfying to finally reach it.

Goldie and Flower Lakes
I visited Goldie a year ago but missed Flower Lake. As it was such a pleasant hike I was looking forward to coming back. The cloudy weather added to the scenery of today’s trip.

Chilliwack Ecological Reserve
I wanted to visit the south end of Chilliwack Lake for some time, but with the road closed to protect the reserve one must hike in rather than drive. Today I decided to give it a go.

Day 2 - Beamer Falls
This time I got a few photos from above and then we hiked in from below right up to the Falls for a new angle of the creek.

Day 3 - Spencer Gorge
I had never been to the gorge and with the sun peeking out; it looked like it was going to be a great day for hiking and photography.

Day 4 - Traveling to Port Stanley
Our time in Grimsby was done for this year and we started off for our Inn in Port Stanley

Day 6 - Port Stanley Terminal Rail
Though a cool day, the sun was out and it was definitely time to get out and explore the town – especially the old railroad that is now a tourist attraction.

Day 7 - Stormy Weather
The day opened with gale like winds, but by lunch I got restless and had to go out and get a few photos

Day 8 - Exploring the Shoreline
It was our last full day in Port Stanley and I felt I had to get out and find some photos even if the weather was questionable.

Jones/Waleach Lake
Jones Lake was one of the earliest areas I explored once I started to seriously explore the region. I felt it was time to return and see the what was along the east side of the lake.

Campbell Valley Park
This little park offers a variety of sights year-round. Today being a snowy post Christmas afternoon, it looked like a unplanned visit would be worthwhile.

Bridal Falls FSR
Easily accessible from the highway, I had driven past it for years always intending to drop by. So today was the day - sort of.

East Harrison Highlights
The east Harrison FSR offers so many view that I never get tired of exploring the area. Today we visited only the first few kilometers of the FSR.
